여고생의 체육수업 참여 갈등요인과 여성체육교사에 대한 역할기대

초록

This study aims to analyze causes of conflicts occurring when female students participate in physical education and to find out female teachers' expected role models. For these purposes, focus-group interviews were conducted among 15 female students using a semi-structured questionnaire. The results are as follows: First, conflicts occur when female students encounter physical contacts with male teachers or when they feel excluded from the male-oriented activities. Female students feel uncomfortable when they are assisted by male teachers through physical contacts and think that there are discrepancies between programs for female students and male students. Also, female students perceive the facilities for physical education as male-dominated spaces. Two, As to female teachers' role model, female students expect more active involvements of female teachers, whose physical conditions are closer to their own, in assisting them in physical activities.
