韓国における知的財産関連分野の学術活動

초록

Among various jurisprudences, there is no such field that undergoes changes as rapidly as the intellectual property legal field. It is becoming common sense that international transactions related to intellectual property rights including state-of-the-art technologies have been increasing remarkably, and it’s becoming clear that the aspect of such changes affects not merely within a nation but also beyond the borderline and, thus, expanding all over the world. This was another year that Korea has experienced noteworthy changes in the intellectual property field. Korea and European Union entered into Free Trade Agreement (a.k.a. Korea-EU FTA), and KORUS FTA (Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement) is expected to be entered sooner or later. Thus, some amendments were made to the intellectual property laws in Korea. There was another big movement. The Framework Act on Intellectual Property (FAIP) was finally passed at the National Assembly this year May after having been enacted in consultation with all the governmental departments concerned, and thus intellectual property related policies are expected to be established actively in the near future. As a result, in the circumstances where the interest of intellectual property is becoming amplified, Korean scholars in intellectual property legal field and related research institutes actively involved in various researches in order to meet the callings of the new era and to create intellectual property as the core field of jurisprudences. Hence, this paper examines and reviews such academic actives of Korean scholars and institutes in the intellectual property legal field and attempts to suggest any improvements if needed.
