공공조직의 성과 향상을 위한 디자인 전략: 사례연구

초록

The theory and practice of public management have focused on “people” and “management” variables of an organization while largely neglecting another important organizational variable-“place” or physical setting at work. However, the paucity of research on the physical workplace in organizational research would be misleading as it affects the way people and management system work in an organization. This study contends that more purposely designed workplaces would contribute to improved human resource management and public organizational performance. Three selected cases illustrate the strategic value of physical setting as a tool for improving organizational performance and citizen satisfaction. The study concludes with a number of implications of how to bring organizational excellence by changing physical settings in public organizations.
