초록

Reverse engineering is a useful tool to produce a digital model through scanning of an object. Using several views of the object, shape reconstruction is possible. Several 3D reconstruction algorithms have been developed by contact probing, laser scanning and image-based approaches. In this paper, structured laser scanning is applied for object scanning. STL files composed of triangular meshes are used for developing a 3D solid model. However, some portions of the object are missed and hole-filling of the scanned surface is required first to derive a solid model through the interface of CAD/CAM systems. To derive a smooth hole filling method of STL files, Delaunay triangulation and NURBS interpolation of the missed holes are developed. Performance of the developed system is verified through a case study.
