A new synthesis of alihatic ketones from olefins via hydroboration under the influence of potassium t-butoxide and copper(I) iodide

The alkyl groups of copper organoborate species which were syntheszed by the organoboranes originated from hydroboration of olefins, such as trialkylborane, B-hexyl-9-BBN, or B-hexyl-dicyclohexylborane, were transferred to aliphatic acyl halides under the influence of potassium t-butoxide and copper(I) iodide and THF-HMPA as a solvent.
