The Study on Improvement of Guideline for BIM Contract for Apartment House Project at Design Contest Stage

BIM must be one of the hot issues now in construction industry. The academic circles ans the business are not hesitant to introduce BIM in an attempt to make use of many advantages BIM has. Many public buildings were built incorporating BIM in whole or in part, and the new policy of the Office of Supply which encourages using BIM will help apply BIM to more projects. Apartment is one of the most common types of housing in Korea, which is also no exception in applying BIM. In fact, LH awarded the contract which partially incorporated BIM. Application of BIM smallest part of the project, instead of a full-scale application, the intent of BIM which was designed to be applied from the planning stage till the final maintenance stage couldn't be working. This study was aimed at reviewing the reality of BIM which has been astray in application, Thereby seeking the way to more effectively make use of BIM from the bid & contract stage.
