칸의 벽난로에 대한 연구 - 직각 체계를 벗어난 근원적 오브제

초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze fireplaces in houses by Louis I. Kahn. This study began by discovering Kahn's architectural shift from orthogonal composition. The change was explicit in fireplace design. Kahn's houses were analyzed with a focus on fireplaces and their placement. In Kahn's houses, fireplace escaped from the wall and showed up in the center of the room like a sculpture. For Kahn, fireplace means essential element of house and house itself. This study suggests that the fireplace in Kahn's houses acts like a monumental building in his city planning.
