The Relationship Between Socially Prescribed Perfectionism and Depression Among Working Mothers: The Mediating Effects of Work-Family Conflict Moderated by Mindfulness

초록

Objectives This study is to verify whether work-family conflict could mediate the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and depression of working mothers and mindfulness would moderate the mediating effects. Methods It collected 312 surveys, focusing on working mothers in their 20s to 50s in Korea. It used SPSS 26.0 and Process Macro 3.0 for its analysis. Results First, this study found that there is a significant correlation among socially prescribed perfectionism, de pression, work-family conflict, and mindfulness of working mothers. Second, it found that work-family conflict could have mediating effects on the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and depression of working mothers. Third, it found that mindfulness could have moderating effects in the relationship between work-family conflict and mindfulness. Fourth, mindfulness could have moderated mediating effects in the proce dure that socially prescribed perfectionism affects depression of working mothers. Conclusions This study focusing on working mothers verified the moderating effects of mindfulness on the pro cedure that personal characteristic of perfectionism causing various psychological problems leads to depression through the work-family conflict as a medium.
