공공도서관 실내공용공간에 적용된 유니버설 디자인 평가 연구

While providing a variety of information, public libraries have also increased their functions as regional social culture and community bases, and are expanding their roles as social infrastructures with public purposes. Therefore, considering users of all ages and physical conditions, in order to create a more convenient and comfortable environment for public libraries, the necessity of Universal design is very important.The purpose of this research is to analyze public library cases from the perspective of Universal design, so that various users can obtain a convenient library environment. This research selects three public libraries in Seoul as the research objects.The results of the Universal design of public spaces in public libraries of the survey subjects showed that the order of “walking space”, “entrance”, and “elevator” are higher. According to the survey, the effective range of pedestrian space, entrances and exits, and elevators are good. And the spaces with the lowest characteristics of Universal design are “corridors and passages”, “stairs” and “toilet” in order. The public space of the public library is a space that can be used by a variety of people. It should provide a Universal design. This research is limited to the public space of public libraries and analyzes the characteristics of Universal design. However, it is necessary to expand the space in the future, analyze the characteristics of Universal design, and come up with improvement plans.
