초록
As interest in autonomous expression and psychological well-being grows within contemporary dance education, the emotional labor and psychological strain inherent in training demand academic attention. This study, grounded in Maslow's hierarchy of needs and theories of emotion regulation and resilience, conducted semi-structured interviews with 20 trained contemporary dancers and analyzed their psychological changes through thematic analysis. Findings revealed a staged psychological growth process: initial needs for safety and acceptance, mid-level development of emotional awareness and self-stability, and advanced integration of expression and identity. Teachers' language, feedback, and classroom atmosphere played a key role in facilitating emotional openness and identity formation. Resilience was not built through success but through repeated failure and internal reflection. This study presents a growth mechanism from need fulfillment to resilience formation and offers practical implications for emotional support strategies in performing arts education.
