Antibiosis of Naturally dyed Batik fabrics - Alternative: naturally dyed fabric treated with Nano-silver

Recently many concerns have heen raised regarding antibacterial textile productions in consideration of dermal sensitivity due to skin irritations. Theoretically the dyestuffs used in traditional Batik fabrics are supposed to contain antibacterial substances. In this paper the antibacterial test for the cotton traditional Batik fabric dyed with natural dyestuffs will be reported. This experiment provides an alternative proposal on the antibacterial test of naturally dyed fabric treated with nano-sized silver colloid solution. Furthermore, through the 20 times of washing tests, the effect of antibiosis of naturally dyed fabrics has been analyzed. The results suggest that it has positive potential to develop healthy, safe, and diverse Batik productions for the Batik business.
