도시디자인 향상을 위한 한강전망쉼터 디자인평가에 관한 연구

초록

Currently, urban residents increasingly raise a variety of their incessant demands but most of the cities around us only apply one-time designs in the same light. In particular, the rest areas and facilities on riverside of the Han River serving as a central axis of Seoul City have witnessed the constant decrease in visitors and not used efficiently, suggesting that a countermeasure to improve the urban design of the city should come up with. In this regard, this study conducted the theoretical discussion on urban design and selected and examined the rest area to look around the Han River installed on the bridge across the river for the case study. The literature study re-composed the regulatory items for public buildings among the urban design elements of the city, appropriate for the Han River Observatory in order to assess each case for location environment, architecture landscape, public space, and interior and elevation of building. The findings revealed that it was an important element to revitalize attraction of users by applying a design taking into account the safety and accessibility of the observatory. In addition, improving urban design required to enlarge space availability applying various programs within the observatory and to introduce the elements of interior design appropriate for the features of each space. For the observatory to improve the urban image in the future, it should harmonize with the surrounding buildings and environment and continue to be improved enough to enhance the quality of citizens' lives.
