초록

This paper introduces and studies the value of the contents of three written books which Tasan gave to Yi Seong-hwa. When Yi Seong-hwa visited Tasan at the place where the latter was living a life of exile, Tasan recommended to Yi to move and live in retirement around Dureung. Yi Seong-hwa was a soldier and lived in poverty. Tasan read 22 poems describing the beautiful scenery of Dureung and persuaded Yi to come live with him as close neighborhoods after he was released from his banishment. Although 12 poems of Chochunsasisa were included in Tasan’s Garland, ten other poems and three epilogues were excluded from the Garland. Reading of the content of each epilogue separately does not help its understanding; only by reading these epilogues together would the reader obtain consistent meaning. The contents include introduction of the beautiful scenery of Tasan’s hometown and presentation of a blueprint of an ideal recluse’s life surrounded by such beautiful scenery. Through this, we recognize can identify with the feelings Tasan had in that particular time and some aspects of the life dreamt by Tasan. The three scrapbooks given to one man scattered with the passing of time, but they are now gathered together in one place after 200 years had passed. It is valuable in restoring a forgotten aspect of Tasan’s life.
