Slew-Rate-Enhanced Buffer Amplifier for TFT-LCD Data Drivers

A high-slew-rate, low-power, rail-to-rail buffer amplifier for TFT-LCD data driver is proposed. The buffer amplifier achieves high slew-rate without increase in power consumption. The proposed and conventional buffer amplifiers were fabricated in a 0.35 jum 1-poly, 4- metal CMOS technology with 3.3 V supply voltage. Measurements show that the slew-rate for 3V transition is enhanced from 1.52 V/us and -1.41 V/us of the conventional counterpart to 2.47 Vius and -2.40 V/us.
