Experimental demonstration for the left-handed behavior of combined structures of cut-wire pair and continuous wire.

We report the experimental results on the transmission properties of the LHM by using the cut-wire pair to provide a negative magnetic permeability and the cut-wire pair is combined with a continuous wire to achieve LHM. These structures were designed, fabricated, and measured in the microwave frequency regime. The combined structures exhibit a pass band within the stop band of the cut-wire pair structure and the continuous wire structures, which is a clear demonstration for the left-handed behavior.
