초록
The purpose of this study is to make up previous studies by examining the relationship between sub-factors of social entrepreneurship and social performance and analyzing the impact of economic performance on social performance of Nigerian social enterprises. For this purpose, we analyzed status of social enterprises, evaluated reliability and validity of latent variables, and estimated the research model by regression analysis for testing research hypotheses. First, status analysis reveals that Nigerian social enterprises are mainly engaged in business areas such as job creation (39.9%), self-sufficiency/ reliance of the vulnerable (21.2%), and improvement of working conditions (20.7%), and most of them are certified by the central government (76.0%). Second, results of Cronbach’s alpha and confirmatory factor analysis show that the reliability and validity of the measurement model for latent variables except for innovativeness are found to be excellent or good. Finally, results of the regression analysis indicate that economic performance, innovativeness, and proactiveness have positive effects on social performance, while risk-taking has a negative effect, and there is a difference in social performance among the business area.
