프로세싱 언어와 얼굴 검출 기능을 이용한 미디어 아트 차원의 전자방명록 구현

초록

Computers and the Internet, as the digital media of 21st century, provided a new paradigm shift, and electronic guest book in the digital media era has suggested an alternative way of the recording -culture from the previously in text- or a new proposal to record as digital data. This paper shows the process of media art work-Face Ball, by combining a digital media technology and contents, and borrowing the format of electronic guest book. If the purpose of the earliest electronic guest book is just gathering digital images and data record related to personal information, by creating contents and technical collaboration of artist and engineering, Face Ball was achieved completely as a electronic guest book through the record participant's face accurately with face detection based on computer vision technique and it was also implemented as the same level of media art work via visual elements using graphics. Futhermore, it derived participant's interest and active participation by game factors using face detection. This work has been observed and recorded diverse interactions of participants and processes during the exhibition period in Hanbit Media Gallery. We are further developing the interface design between media art and participants, and functional approaches based on the customer's responses during the exhibition.
