의미역과 정보구조의 교차 -보조사 ‘은/는’의 처리에 대한 시선추적 연구-

초록

This study examines the effect of Korean particle un/nun on sentence processing when it appears in positions otherwise occupied by case markers. Seventy native and non-native speakers of Korean completed a sentence processing experiment while their eye movements were recorded. The stimuli comprised 63 target sentences across 12 types, varying in word order, animacy, and the distribution of un/nun and case markers. The results show that the role of un/nun varied with position and distribution, producing both facilitative and disruptive effects. The findings suggest that un/nun not only increases the information-structural prominence of the marked noun phrase but also has the effect of Postponement of Case, arguing that thematic role assignment in Korean emerges through the interaction of case marking and information structure.
