아렌트의 정치철학- 칸트에 대한 비판과 수용의 시도 -

초록

Hannah Arendt's conception of the Political receives relatively great attention from contemporary political theories, esp. participatory democratic theory, discourse theory, and communitarianism. In spite of a variety of the approaches, they recognize commonly that Arendt has devoted herself to the renewal of the public sphere and political action. Based on a Aristotelian distinction between private and public, poiesis and praxis, she investigates the significance of public sphere and praxis. And she breaks with the Western tradition of political thought which dissolves the political action by setting contemplation over praxis. Her insistence on the autonomy of politics and the primacy of the political action makes her skeptical about modern practical philosophy, including Kant. Arendt explains that Kant’s practical philosophy as a whole takes no political action into account and it includes only metaphysical theory of reason and will. Notwithstanding Kant has great influence on Arendt’s political theory. She looks to Kant's analysis of reflective judgment in the < Critique of Judgment >, especially that of reflective judgment of taste in order to explain how political judgment can be conceived. Focusing on Kant’s conception of sensus communis and enlarged mentality she completes her own conception of political judgment which enables the revaluation of plurality and communicability of men.
