인공지능 시대 교사의 역할-국어교사의 직무 사례를 중심으로-

초록

We examine the role of teachers in the age of artificial intelligence(AI), especially the case of the tasks for Korean teachers. We first analyze some central concepts including machine intelligence and the diference between speical intelligence and general intelligence. We then claim that special rather than general intelligence will dominate near future AI research and applications, and that the most likely consequence of AI technology will not be the total replacement of human jobs, but rather selective replacement of specific tasks which can be relatively easily implementable by machine. Based on this general analysis we notice there are more structured and well-defined tasks and less well-defined and therefore more practical tasks within the task range of Korean teachers. For the first type of tasks, we suggest the collaborative work between human teachers and AI will be more productive, while for the second type, the combination of practical knowledge and theoretical knowledge is more crucial for the successful accomplishment of the tasks. In sum we propose that Korean teachers should pay attention to acquiring practical and theoretical knowledge to lead fruitful classes in the age of AI.
