최적성이론에 의한 ‘ㅸ’의 통시적 변화 연구

초록

This paper is to analyze ‘ㅸ’s temporal change in Optimality Theory. At first, we talk about the problem which ‘ㅸ’ was vanished for a certain reason, and then I explain ‘ㅸ’s temporal change that had been vanished since 16th century in Optimality Theory. ‘ㅸ’ is regulated Sunkyeongeum of voiced sounds in Hunminjeongeum. We regard general view that a phonetic value realize [β]. This ‘ㅸ’ is defined by the environments of voiced sound between vowels, between [r] and vowel, and between ‘ᅀ’ and vowel. To begin with, there is a problem that ‘ㅸ’ might exist before the middle of Korean. We require serious research on what time it begins. What we make a next discussion is why ‘ㅸ’ happened and what aspect is. We estimate the disappearance of ‘ㅸ’ between the latter of 15th century and the middle of 16th century: ‘ㅸ’ changed to ‘w’. There are many examples which changed to ‘w’ in a written word. Therefore, we conclude that ‘ㅸ’ disappeared in the past of 16th century.
