초정 김상옥의 시조 미학

초록

Kim Sangok was a poet accomplishing literary success both quantity and quality of works like a master. He was a craftsman changing various forms and materials. It is impossible to explain his sijo(traditional three-verse Korean poem) esthetics with some trends or types of literature. Nevertheless he showed connotative directivity on hometown and classics. In Kim Sangok’s sijo, experienced and ordinary figure of nature was well revealed rather than ideality. Not the nature connected with ideality, the nature including living concreteness and the nature deeply corresponding with inside of a poet himself indicated at the same time. In addition to this, he used imagination based on classics. In later period, he sequaciously researched how everyday life and mind of moderns figuratively connected with each other as he came through daily life and inner side. His sijo was aimed at construct analogic contact point between scenery and inner side based on balance and integrity. He clearly showed these real poetic figures through self-consciousness and esthetics introspection on sijo, and through sijo. Like that, his later poems positively recovered daily life and inner side, then they consistently researched how daily life inner side of moderns connected with each other. As a result, their denotation expanded to history beyond daily life. With affection, we must succeed sijo, which developed to foundation based on features of our language and outlook, not other genre arising from western features. The meanings of Kim Sangok’s sijo are to remember obvious model to reveal in these research process.
