이중적 CSR 체제의 기원 미국·독일·일본·한국의 국제비교 연구
초록
Today corporate social responsibility(CSR) is increasingly emerging as an issue that demands a response both from business and academic communities. In this study, I seek to explain the growing influence of CSR in the US, Germany, Japan, and Korea. This study introduced a new concept "the dual CSR system" to explain dualistic characters embedded in CSR. The dual CSR system consists of the external and internal CSR. In particular, this study attempts to present the differences in the way CSR is implemented and embedded in business-society relations between the four nations. This study found that there is a fundamentally different institutional environment which allocates responsibility for social issues in a different way on these four nations. Also, this study found the institutional isomorphism of the external CSR over the world that is strongly affected by globalization, compulsory global standard initiatives by international institutions, and institutional investors for SRI. While CSR in the US would address issues of the social responsibility of business explicitly in corporate policies, programmes and strategies, the responsibility for these issues in Germany is implicit in the institutional environment of business. Also, while CSR in Japan would address issues of the social responsibility of business in terms of the moral unity between employer and employees, in Korea CSR is regarded as social returns of the wealth from the owners of business group, so called chaebol.
