초록

This study has studied effects of off-line and on-line media on political socialization of North Korean defectors. For the study,research hypotheses are suggested as follow; The more the defectors use TV, newspaper, radio, internet news in Korea, the higher political knowledge, political efficacy, political trust, political participation they have. For the study, we gathered data of 300 defectors by the help of advocacy group for North Korean defectors. We finally analysed 199data of them. The result of analysis shows that each news media has meaningful effects on political efficacy, political participation. The specific results of the analysis are that the usage of radio has positive effects on political efficacy and internet news has positive effects on political participation. On the other hand, TV news and newspaper have negative effects on political participation and internet news has negative effects on political efficacy. Their length of residence in South Korea is important variable among other variables but media.
