Amhaengeosa(secret royal inspector) went around the country in secret in accordance with the royal command during Joseon period, investigated misadministration and saw how people lived. It was also called "Sueui(繡衣)" and "Jikji(直指)." Bak Raegyeom's family clan was based on Milyang. His childhood name was Gongik and the pen name was Mano. He worked as the second minister in the Ministry of Taxation and the second minister in Ministry of Rites. He wrote the "Seosuilgi( 『西繡日記』)(a diary)" describing the experience as the secret royal inspector in Pyeongannam-do when he was 43 years old. "Seosuilgi" is the diary written by Bak Raegyeom who was the assistant counselor in Office of Special Advisors when he was 43 years old. The diary was written for 126 days from March 16 to July 28, 1822. "Seosuilgi" contains dates, weathers, places visited, rough geographical description on the places where he visited, feeling on famous places, streets, and names of the leaders in the towns. He stationed his companies in three directions for the works as the secret royal inspector. It was to effectively process his works and to avoid his position from being exposed. He visited all famous places and wrote the feeling on those places in brief. It was very impressive that he visited the famous local notables and agreed with anger and sigh of literary people in northwestern region in Korea. Furthermore, it is the most important in terms that he could get information which he couldn't get if he wouldn't hide his identity including information he described by directly listening to those in lower classes.
