고교동창 골프동호회의 권력관계에 관한 연구

초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate power relations within a male high school alumni golf-club. In this respect, this study focuses on the way in which members of a golf club exercise their power and on the process in which authority is generated and distributed. To do so, the current research looks at the D high school alumni golf club which is the fourth largest alumni golf club amongst the 425 SBS GOLF.COM registered alumni clubs. Total of the 8 members who have joined the club more then three years and regularly attended the golf meeting are selected through the purposeful sampling. Ethnographic methods, which include a participant observation and an in-depth interview, are employed. Findings of this study are as follow: Firstly, the age is the main factor that determines power relation within the club. Secondly, the economic status has no meaningful impact on the power relations within the club. Thirdly, the level of performance, to some extent, influences power relations within the club. Finally, members who actively participate in on-line activities exercise more power in certain areas within the club.
