Intermittent operation of mechanical ventilation in apartments for IAQ and energy saving

초록

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of intermittent operation of mechanical ventilation on IAQ, and also to propose an optimum intermittent operation for occupant life patterns. The study was consisted of two parts; one is the field measurements for changing indoor air pollutants' levels in several operation conditions including change of operation time and operation periods, and the second is simulation to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed intermittent operation compared with previously proposed operation strategies. From the results of this study, it is found that time scheduled intermittent operation could provide healthy indoor air quality and also save energy consumption in houses.
