한-EU FTA의 국내 이행과 지리적 표시제도
초록
The TRIPS Agreement was the first multilateral treaty which provided extended protection to geographical indications in terms of substantive provisions, enforcement, and in the number of countries involved in that protection. Bilateral agreements are likely to remain important in this area. This is because while the TRIPS Agreement provides for minimum standards of protection for geographical indicationsand other categories of intellectual property rights, bilateral agreements protect each specific geographical indication in which Parties are interested. This gives the possibility of strengthening the protection of geographical indications, bilaterally. Both kinds of agreements may become mutually complementary. Korea-EU FTA may also serve the purpose of protecting geographical indications internationally. This article studies the Arrangement Scheme of Geographical Indications Regimes in light of the Negotiation for the FTA between the Republic of Korea and the European Union
