신체억제대 적용을 경험한 환자의 인식

초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify on the perceptions toward the use of physical restraints among hospitalized patients according to their values, beliefs, and awareness using Q methodology. Methods: Twenty-five patients classified 41 selected Q-statements into 11 points standard. The obtained data were analyzed by using a PC-QUANL program. Results: Principal Component Analysis identified 4 types of the perceptions toward the use of physical restraints among patients, and named by researcher. TypeⅠis ‘Receptive-confidence in health care providers’, type II is ‘Emphasis on alternative plan’, type III is ‘Important role in health care providers’, and type IV is ‘Receptive-distrust in health care providers’. These findings of the study suggest that perceptions toward the use of physical restraints among patients should be understood for patients’ safety and dignity in healthcare circumstance. Conclusion: Based on these results, the directions for future research were discussed.
