초록

Playfulness is an important element to understand the leisure behaviour. In order to understand the nature of leisure, it is essential to understand playfulness which is a intrinsic characteristics of human being. Different behavior in leisure activities can be depending on the individual’s propensity. Thus the leisure activity like human being’s play thing can differ depending on the playfulness. It is therefore an object of the study was to analyse the structural relationship between playfulness, flow experience, and leisure satisfaction. Especially, Csikszentmihalyi’s play and flow relationship was investigated in relation to the playfulness and flow experience. First, the result revealed that playfulness gave a significant effect on the flow experience that playfulness is leading factor to optimal experience. As a result, the finding proved Csikszentmihalyi’s self-purpose and optimal enjoyment are deeply related with the playfulness. Academic implications can be demonstrated that leisure experience can be proved through play and playfulness. Second, it has been rejected hypothesis 2.(playfulness directly related to leisure satisfaction) however, playfulness effected on satisfaction through the flow experience. Finally, the flow was a positive effect on leisure satisfaction directly. Thus, for continued participation in leisure it is important to consider the elements of flow experience in the operation and management of leisure activities.
