Synthesis and Electrochemical Properties of Li[Ni0.8Co0.1Mn0.1]O2 Via Co-Precipitation

초록

LiNiO2 provides an important advantage compared to LiCoO2 since Ni is less expensive and less toxic than Co, but it suffers form a few problems. It is difficulty to synthesis LiNiO2. And this material has low thermal stability, poor cycle life in the charge state. However, several cations have been proposed for partially substituting Co/Ni, while S and F have been proposed for O. Co doping on LiNiO2 is not only improves the layered characteristics of LiNiO2, but also increases its thermal stability in the charged state. But, up to now, LiNi1-yCoyO2 has low thermal stability and has been found to develop impedance during cycling particularly at high temperatures. According to Ceder and Mishra, One could partly substitute Mn3+ with non-magnetic ions, the layered LiNiO2 has been prepared by co-precipitation synthesis by slightly doping the material with ions such as Mn and Co. In this study, we reported that the preparation of spherical [Ni0.8Co0.1Mn0.1](OH)2 precursor and the electrochemical properties for Li[Ni0.8Co0.1Mn0.1]O2 powders.
