공공도서관 디지털서비스에 따른 디지털자료실 공간계획 특성 연구

초록

The government has mandated to create sections for digital contents in public libraries and has recommended visitors use the free internet or view various media resources in such spaces. While digital contents offered at public libraries tend to be expanded gradually, services offered at digital libraries and spatial organizations are not quite sufficiently worth to be recommended. To vitalize digital sections, this study analyzed digital services and spaces of digital sections of 13 architecturally excellent public libraries located in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. The results suggest that the range of users and services were limited and standardized spatial organization mainly composed of computers offers passive viewing environments for users. Most of digital sections were divided by the purpose of a space such as computer spaces, laptop spaces, and DVD spaces, though seats are all single seats and placed uniformly. For digital services at public libraries to be used effectively, digital sections should be planned to offer complex purposes as an open space.
