다문화수학교육의 원리와 방법

초록

Since the 1990s, Korean society has been rapidly transformed into multicultural society. This social change has promoted the discourse of multicultural education and the shift into paradigm to respect diversity and difference. In this context, this paper is to search for the principles and methods of multicultural mathematics education that adapts the educational needs of Korean multicultural society. For the purpose, this paper provides a review of literature concerning the goals of multicultural mathematics education and instructional approaches from the multicultural perspectives. Based on the review of the exemplary programs for multicultural mathematics, this paper identifies the principles for multicultural mathematics education. Finally, this paper presents a discussion about what needs to be considered for the development of model for multicultural mathematics education which satisfies the educational need of Korean multicultural society.
