초록
This study critically examines the current state of extracurricular career education in domestic universities by applying Won-seop Jang’s 'Pedagogy of Work' framework. To this end, prior studies on extracurricular career education and the programs of five universities operating a career semester system were classified and analyzed into three domains: 'education for work,' 'education through work,' and 'education about work'. The results reveal that current career education is excessively skewed toward 'education for work,' focusing heavily on short-term job preparation. 'Education through work,' such as field practicums, tended to be limited to short-term participation in public disclosure materials, and 'education about work,' which involves reflecting on the value and meaning of work, was difficult to explicitly identify at the level of program titles and superficial operational overviews of the analyzed cases. In conclusion, this study suggests that university career education should move beyond instrumental training and achieve a balance among the three domains, enabling students to integratively reflect on their work and life
