어머니의 퍼빙이 유아 자기조절력에 미치는 영향: 어머니 놀이참여태도의 매개효과

초록

This study aims to examine the effect of mother’s phubbing on preschool children’s self-regulation and the mediating effect of mothers’ play participation attitudes. Participants were 244 mothers of preschool children aged 3 to 5 years. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, and bootstrapping. First, mother’s phubbing was negatively correlated with preschool children’s self-regulation and mothers’ play participation attitudes, whereas mothers’ play participation attitudes were positively correlated with preschool children’s self-regulation. Second, mothers’ play participation attitudes significantly mediated the relationship between mother’s phubbing and preschool children’s self-regulation. Third, the mediating effects differed across the subfactors of mothers’ play participation attitudes. The subfactors labeled “sensitively play” and “delightfully play” fully mediated the relationship between mother’s phubbing and preschool children’s self-regulation, whereas the subfactor labeled “responsively play” showed a significant partial mediating effect. These findings indicate that mother’s phubbing may affect preschool children’s self-regulation through mothers’ play participation attitudes. The study highlights the importance of helping mothers reduce phubbing and participate sensitively, responsively, and delightfully in play with their children.
