초록

The purpose of the study was to examine diverse behaviors of the aged at a kitchen and their desire for kitchen improvement as a basic survey to improve kitchen design for the aged. The study carried out a literary survey of kitchen use and improvement and conducted a survey with the aged of more than 65 years old. The results of the study were as follows. Most of them answered that it was necessary to improve a kitchen for the aged. First, they answered that it was necessary to improve a moving line of a kitchen space. Second, with regard to kitchen furniture followed by features of the subject, most of them answered that it was necessary to improve a worktable and a sink out of kitchen furniture. They had differences in opinions about improvement in storage of kitchen furniture. Third, they had differences in opinions about preference, availability and improvement of home appliance or facilities related to their physical difference, but took a high interest in them. Fourth, they answered that it was necessary to improve heating devices for their safety according to their features. Availability of home appliances was divided into two groups according to their individual differences.
