The Relationship Between Deliberate Rumination on Interpersonal Trauma Experiences of Counselors and Counselor Self-Efficacy: The Mediating Effects of Post-Traumatic Growth and Professional Identity

초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the roles of post-traumatic growth and counselor professional identity in the relationship between deliberate rumination on interpersonal trauma experiences and counselor self-efficacy. An online survey was conducted on 388 counselors, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0 and PROCESS Macro. The results revealed that post-traumatic growth partially mediates the relationship between deliberate rumination and counselor self-efficacy. Additionally, counselor professional identity completely mediates this relationship. Furthermore, post-traumatic growth and counselor professional identity sequentially mediate the relationship between deliberate rumination and counselor self-efficacy. This study is significant as it tests the hypothesis that personal growth, such as post-traumatic growth through deliberate rumination, can lead to professional growth, including the development of counselor professional identity and the enhancement of counselor self-efficacy.
