Analysis of Microorganisms in Petroleum Reservoir by Molecular Biological Approach

초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the dominant microorganisms in oil reservoirs to apply for MEOR. Oilsand from Canada and mid-heavy from Myanmar were sampled for the research, and the microorganisms cluster analysis was carried out by molecular biological approach. The research started with DNA extraction and amplification from the samples, and analyzed the DNA for dominant species. Throughout the research, it was able to confirm the appropriate dominant microorganisms for MEOR in Canada and Myanmar. For oilsand in Canada, Streptococcus, microorganism which degrades hydrocarbon to separate oil and sand by using produced organic acid and bio gas, was found. In reservoir of Myanmar, and Clostridium was found that it is able to improve immobility of oil by decreasing oil viscosity from CO2, H2, CH4 produced. The processes from the research can be utilized to develop MEOR techniques in the future.
