초록

Silver-deposited silica particles were prepared by chemical reduction method. Silica particles, used as a support of silver nanoparticles, have vinyl groups on their surface. Various types of silane monomers were used as a stabilizer in order to obtain well-dispersed nano-sized silver metal particles. Silver ions can be easily reduced both in an alcohol only and with a reducing agent. When refluxing condition was applied in alcohol solvent, the reduction of silver ions was taken place even in the total absence of light. In this study, the change in morphology of silver- deposited silica particles was investigated with the variation of the silver salt concentration and the nature of reducing agents. The silver-deposited silica particles as prepared were characterized with scanning (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
