중등 미술교사의 내용교수지식(PCK) 신장을 위한 반성적 사고도구 개발

초록

The professional development of teachers plays a pivotal role in improving the quality of education. This study sheds light on the professional development of teachers from the integrated perspective of ‘teaching’ rather than dealing it as a technical matter. This study aims at finding the practical ways to develop art teachers' cognitive ability of transforming content knowledge into pedagogical knowledge through the contextual understanding of teacher, students, and class situations. Thus the purpose of this study is to devise the reflective thinking tools for the development of art teachers' pedagogical content knowledge based on the comprehensive review of educational theories on school reform, curriculum studies, PCK, and reflection. First, the significance of the research on art teachers is discussed by reviewing the discourses of school reform and the broadening concept of curriculum. The direction of art teachers' professional development is examined based on the concept of pedagogical content knowledge so as to draw the central elements of PCK in art teaching. Finally, the reflective thinking tools are presented in terms of the inquiry on personal narrative, the analysis of teaching, and the construction of knowledge-in-action.
