초록
The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between game behavior and self-initiative of teenagers. Game behavior of teenagers may be divided into adaptive usage group and maladaptive usage group. adaptive usage group may be divided into typical usage group and adaptive usage group. maladaptive usage group may be danger group and caution group. Our task is to find out the factors that identify each of these game behavior groups by analyzing unique game behavior of each groups, differences in self-initiative of each group, and elements that negatively affect self-initiative. The research is based on data obtained from 2,691 elementary or middle school teenagers. This data was analyzed for correlations and distinctions. The results of the analysis run as follows. Three discriminant functions resulted from discriminant analysis of the four groups. Function 1 showed significant discrimination with respect to academics. Function 2 showed significant discrimination with respect to creativity, self-analysis ability, leadership, self-identity, openness, listed in the order of descending discrimination. Function 3 showed significant discrimination with respect to responsibility and future-oriented value, listed in the order of descending discrimination. Through this research, we propose that self-initiate variable is a key element in identifying different game behavior groups of teenagers, and recommend a further research in this area.
