초록

Nylon-6 is a synthetic polymer widely used for synthetic fibers and plastic material in a wide range of applications like brush bristles, wearing apparel, protective clothing and filtration membrane media. Silver is a white metal having excellent electrical conductivity and antibacterial activity. It has been widely used as disinfectant and water purification agent. In this research, silver nanoparticles have been employed to nylon solution to prepare electrospun nanofibers. Various parameters of the electrospun fibers have been studied and it has been shown that the addition of silver nanoparticles introduces antibacterial effect in the prepared nylon composite fibers. The average fiber diameter and fiber morphology is greatly affected with the change of parameters like solution concentration, amount of silver nanoparticles. These prepared composite fibers have potential applications like filtration membranes.
