Effect of highly focused beam on budding and growth of optically trapped yeast cells

초록

Yeast cells are trapped and manipulated by optical tweezers of single beam and Michelson interferometer. Not only the shape of cell but the direction of budding and growth of trapped yeast cell can be manipulated by optical tweezers. Mechanical properties of budding yeast can be measured using the method of single beam and Michelson interferometer. We have investigated what optical potential well and neighboring yeast cells have an influence on the budding yeast
