The Mediating Effect of Fear of Positive Evaluation Controlled by Unconditional Self-Acceptancein the Relationship Between Perfectionist Self-Presentation and Experiential Avoidance Among College Students

초록

This study is aimed to examine the mediating effect of fear of positive evaluation on the relationship between perfectionist self-presentation and experiential avoidance among college students. Additionally, it sought to verify whether unconditional self-acceptance moderates this mediating effect. Data from 321 college students nationwide were analyzed using SPSS 28.0 and SPSS Macro Process v3.0. The results indicated that fear of positive evaluation partially mediated the relationship between perfectionist self-presentation and experiential avoidance. Moreover, a moderated mediation effect was found, such that the role of fear of positive evaluation was significant only when the level of unconditional self-acceptance was above average. Based on these findings, the implications and limitations of the study are discussed, along with suggestions for future research.
