Quantitative scales including Appel score, Norris score, ALSFRSr, and Tufts quantitative neuromuscular examination (TQNE) were designed for evaluating clinical course of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and each scale system is chosen according to the purpose of clinical design.
