다문화미술교육을 위한 교사교육의 방향 탐색

초록

This research aims at identifying the multicultural competency of art teachers and proposing the direction of art teacher education, based on the contextual understanding of multicultural education in Korean society. In order to conceptualize the role of art education in the rapid shift toward multicultural society, this study discusses about the responses and changes in terms of the education discourse and policy making. This study acknowledges the importance of art teachers’ competency in enhancing and permeating multicultural art education in school settings. The concept of culturally relevant pedagogy has provided the framework for drawing the abilities and responsibilities of multicultural art teachers as well as the direction of multicultural art teacher development. In association with the Korean multicultural situations and multicultural art education theories, this study sheds light on the multicultural art teacher education as the pivotal factor of multicultural art education in Korea.
