분당 신도시의 성장과 상권의 변화과정

초록

This study investigates inter-temporal changes of retail and other services attractions of Bundang new town in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. This study is a sequential research following the similar studies investigating shopping behaviors of the residents in the Bundang area in 1995 and 2000. The results show that dependency of Bundang residents on Seoul has been much reduced during the time period from 2000 to 2005 even for leisure and hospital use. However, the attraction of Bundang from the nearby old and new residential areas has been more intensified. Consequently, this paper reveals intensification of Bundang's retail and other services centrality in the suburban areas and a growing potential of Bundang as a suburban business center.
