금속 판을 활용한 식물공장 용 조명 등기구의 방열 성능 LED 개선 및 성능 평가

This paper presents a novel approach for the thermal management of light-emitting diode (LED) lightingfixtures in plant factories by incorporating metal sheets. Experimental and numerical analyses show that metalsheets effectively reduce the junction temperature of LEDs, thus significantly improving their heat dissipation. The relative error between experimental and simulation results is within 3%, thereby confirming the reliabilityof the numerical approach. Three configurations are examined: a reference fixture without metal sheets, afixture with metal sheets installed inside and outside, and an innovative fixture design connecting the internaland external metal sheets. Among them, the connected-metal-sheet configuration exhibits superior performance,i.e., it reduces the average surface temperature by more than 5% and minimizes the temperature gradientsacross the lighting fixture. This advanced configuration utilizes enhanced thermal conductivity to reducelocalized heat concentrations and improve natural convection, thereby improving heat dissipation. The resultshighlight a scalable and cost-effective solution for LED thermal management, thus offering significantpotential for enhancing the sustainability and energy efficiency of plant-factory technologies. This studyprovides valuable insights for the development of efficient thermal management systems in advancedagricultural environments.
