McLuhan의 매체론에서 본 사이버대학 학습자의 지식창조과정 모형 개발

초록

The purpose of this study is to discover the knowledge-creating process of learners in a cyber university, as seen in McLuhan’s theory of medium. To attain the objective, selecting ‘a Graduate Design Project’ of H University as a case for qualitative research method. The findings are as follows. First, the meaning of media was expressed media is extensions of sense. Not only media itself is message of psychological and social effects, but also it is massage stimulating tactual sense of human. Second, the methods in which the learners in a cyber university interact with media in the knowledge-creating process are divided into 2 stages: One is a socialization stage in which implicit knowledge is converted into explicit knowledge and the other is the externalization stage where explicit knowledge is converted into implicit knowledge. In each stage, the learners interacted with media at basic level at first but interacted more deeply with it by help of a instructor. Third, the educational plan for the learners to use media proficiently is to lead them to aim for being ‘artist’. The educational plans divided into ‘implosive support’ and ‘explosive support’. This study finds the knowledge-creating process through the direct link between learners and media; selected a real case; and presented a specific process in which implicate knowledge is converted into explicit knowledge. In addition, another significance of this study can be found in that it reinterpreted SECI model that is widely used in business organization into school organization and suggested a potential of learners to create media beyond simple use of it.
