용산공원 조성방향에 대한 서울 시민의 의식조사

초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the image of the Yongsan Park desired by Seoulites. This study selected eight places in Seoul and then conducted the survey to identify such issues as the desirable type of the park, the allowance of development, and the payment for construction of the park. Following are the results of this study. First, the respondents prefer an ecological park that artificial factors are restricted as much as possible to the park with several convenient facilities. Second, a large number of respondents think that the national government has to pay more costs concerning the park's construction because the Yongsan Park is supposed to be a national park. Third, the greater part of the respondents appear unfriendly to man-made development. This result has the same implication as the aforementioned finding that people prefer the ecological park to the park with several convenient facilities. Such a result seems to reflect the current trend that values the amenity and environmental aspects. Given the findings, the Yongsan Park has to be developed as an environment-friendly park, and the national government has to actively search for some methods to reduce the citizens' financial burden.
